Haiphong is a coastal modern industrial, commercial, tourist, fishing and educational and banking city in Vietnam. It is a major transport link and a main gateway to the sea for the northern provinces through deep-water sea-ports and a critical growth pole of the Triangle Dynamic Economic Zone in Northern Vietnam : Hanoi – Haiphong – Quang Ninh. The city is a hub for sea economic development of the northern provinces in Vietnam. It stands for a long time a firm fortress with a strong party and political system and commitments to improve people's living standard and education. Now, Haiphong is committed to taking the lead in the cause of industrialization and modernization in a bid to develop into a modern civilized industrialized city prior to 2020.
